The REPLICATE Project consortium, which includes Zeetta Networks, has been selected for funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020: Smart Cities and Communities programme.
The REPLICATE (REnaissance of PLaces with Innovative Citizenship And TEchnologies) Project received the highest score of all the entries for its innovative proposal to integrate energy, transport and ICT at scale in the City.
The €25million project aims to create integrated smart city solutions to tackle problems such as poor air quality, unsustainable energy use and traffic congestion. There are three main cities that will share the cash with projects from Bristol in the UK, San Sebastián in Spain and Florence in Italy.
Three "follower" cities from Essen (Germany), Lausanne (Switzerland) and Nilufer (Turkey) and more "observer" cities including Guangzhou, Bogota, etc. will monitor the progress of the project and will consider adopting the project results in their own cities.
