Zeetta Networks joins the movers and shakers at Telecoms Infra Project Summit

Zeetta Networks will be contributing to the invite-only Telecoms Infra Project (TIP) Summit in Santa Clara, California on 8th and 9th November. Our CEO, Vassilis Seferidis, will join global tech leaders at this prestigious event to exchange ideas which aim to transform not only the industry, but the world with increased connectivity.

For Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, access to the Internet for all is a fundamental challenge of our time, and one that the social media behemoth is taking on. At Mobile World Congress this year, Nicola Mendelsohn, the tech giant’s vice president for EMEA said:

“We think there’s still a lot of work to do in connecting the unconnected. Most people – 4 billion – are still unconnected.”

That’s where the Telecoms Infra Project comes in. TIP was established in 2016 by Facebook in order to shake up the traditional network deployment approach. It has grown rapidly from five members to more than 450 partners in the last year with the ambition of accelerating innovation in the telecoms industry, including connecting those in remote areas. The transformation of mobile networking becomes even more pressing with the shift from text to video streaming and VR technologies with Cisco estimating that by 2019, 80% of the world’s internet traffic will be video. ().

The Summit offers the opportunity to create the telecom networks of the future by collaborating with TIP members, from huge global telecoms players to innovative SMEs. We are involved in one of TIP’s projects as one of the first winning entrants of the Telecoms Ecosystem Acceleration Centre (TEAC) initiative with our NetOS® product.

The project really places value on the vital role that startups play in driving innovation in the telecoms sector. Such innovation is explicitly nurtured by the TIP community led by Facebook, BT, Deutche Telekom and others, as they collectively seek to democratise the global online experience.

It is in this area that Zeetta Networks comes into play with our NetOS® software-defined networking solution (SDN). NetOS® enables enhanced network virtualization and facilitates open, disaggregated network solutions. This innovative technology is set to transform the economic model for network operators in order to meet global connectivity requirements.

What can we expect from the Telecoms Intra Project Summit?

The Summit is the place to discover the latest thought-provoking ideas and exchange insight with the biggest industry players from BT, Deutsche Telekom, Facebook, Reliance Jio and Telefonica. As TIP members we’re also keen to hear progress updates for the project groups, including OpenCellular, Open Optical Packet Transport, and People and Process.
