Ian Jenks, Chair
Ian has more than 30 years of Board-level experience in the Communications and Industrial Technology fields, both as an investor and as Chief Executive Officer of companies operating in the US and Europe. He is currently also a director of FTSE-listed Paysafe Group plc, Birdsafe, Birdstep Technology ASA (publicly listed in Norway) and of Econic Technology Limited. Ian previously served as the Executive Chairman and as Chief Executive Officer of Intune Networks Limited. He was formerly a director of the British Photovolatic Association and a partner of Crescendo Ventures LLP in Palo Alto, US. He was a Non-Executive Chairman of Oplink Communications Incorporated, of Quantasol Limited and Executive Chairman of Evo Electric Limited. Ian is an associate member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
Vassilis Seferidis, CEO Zeetta Networks
Vassilis has more than 20 years experience in the Telecommunications and Consumer Electronics (CE) industries mainly in Strategic Business Planning and Development roles. Before co-founding Zeetta Networks, Vassilis was Director of European Business Development for Samsung Electronics responsible for driving revenue growth and strategic development of the company’s Consumer Electronics business across Europe. He held senior management positions with British Telecom, Toshiba Information Systems, Philips Electronics, and British Standards Institute. During 2006-2009 he was CTO of QIO Systems Inc., a pioneer in wearable electronics based in New York City. Vassilis holds a BSc and MSc from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a PhD from Essex University and an MBA from Cass Business School, Unoiversity of London.
Reza Nejabati, University of Bristol
Reza is a co-founder of the company and an industry expert in SDN and NFV. He is an Associate Professor in the University of Bristol and Head of the renown High Performance Networks Research Group. He has been instrumental in defining the company's technology strategy and strategic partnerships. Whilst attracting significant venture capitalist investment for the company, he has also built the development and engineering team for the company. As an academic he has written or co-authored over 200 peer reviewed papers and several standardization documents. In 2016 he was the recipient of the Charles Kao award in recognition of his pioneering work on SDN for optical transport networks. He is a research associate in ONF and currently involved in several UK EPSRC and European-funded (Horizon2020) research projects.
Manjari Chandran-Ramesh, IP Group
Working in Venture Capital for early stage university spin outs, Manjari has a focus on robotics, AI, and Machine Learning. Her experience in business strategy and development is extensive, with technical and market due diligence expertise in particular. Her previous experience includes working as a technology transfer manager for commercialisation of early stage engineering and software technologies specialising in IP protection, innovation strategy and incubation of new ventures. Earlier, she held a post-doctoral researcher position in Computational Linguistics Group and a college lecturer post in Engineering, both at the University of Oxford. Manjari was a Rhodes Scholar and has a PhD in Robotics.
Andrea Baldini, Breed Reply
Andrea has more than 15 years of global experience in business and technology strategy, project and people management, research and development, and all aspects related to venture capital investment process, including deal screening and analysis, due diligence, investment negotiation and closing. He has worked and studied in the technology sector in the USA for over seven years, and the finance sector in South-East Asia and Europe. His geeky fondness for technology and science has led to business and finance experience (investments, growth, processes, MBA at INSEAD), people and project management (data-center energy solutions, cloud computing, network storage), and sound technical background and research experience (MSc, PhD, research in testing and networks).
David Leftley, Bloc Ventures
David is a real innovator with a great balance of technical and commercial acumen. He is pragmatic & ethical in his approach to work. His experience and knowledge comes from more than 25 years working across three industry sectors – Telecommunication (Fixed & Mobile), Television & Film and the Defence Electronics sectors. Having worked for both small and large business, from early in his career he has been exposed to the sharp end of innovation and business issues, gaining experience at all levels of business from lab to board room, in Start-up, SME, Multi-national and Venture Capital environments. David has a complete and diverse set of skills which gives him the ability to go broad and deep on business and technical issues. He is pragmatic, tenacious and results focused, which means that he not only develops his ideas but also has a record of making them a commercial reality.
